Know More About Live Video Streaming Server
There are a number of components and parts that help make live streaming technology work. Among these components of the streaming set-up, the three most important are the web server, the media server of the live video Streaming Server and the end user. Each major component of this equation has a role to play in streaming audio and video online.
Here's how basic streaming of audio and video works. A user or a consumer visits a web page and selects a file they want to view. This request is then sent to the web server, and in turn the web server sends a message to the live streaming media server requesting the identified file. Once the live video streaming server has received the request, it will stream the requested file directly to the user, bypassing the web server. The video streaming server gets minimal help from the web server. The requested files and all other content that are requested online via the server are processed and delivered to the internet user through a set of rules known in the industry as protocols.
Simply put, these protocols handle how data travels from one device to the next. There are different types of protocols used online. For many however, the most common is the hypertext transfer protocol or HTTP. This specifies how users access and views web pages. Other popular protocols are the transmission control protocol, or TCP and the file transfer protocol or FTP.
Though these are used and exchanged online, these particular protocols are not compatible with live video streaming. The technology of streaming data arrived too quickly and thus needed a new set of protocols. These were developed, and include the real-time protocol (RTP), real time streaming protocol (RTSP) and real time transport control protocol (RTCP). All three work with the other online protocols. For example, if these protocol streams video content to one end user the other protocols are still at work in the background.
